Hi guys,

It’s Mother’s day in the UK today and its a special day in the honour of all mothers out there.

Mothering Sunday is a time when children pay respect to their Mothers and children often give their Mothers a gift.

Some of you probably bought already something for your mumsies but those that haven’t yet listen up because as you already probably know, here at guysword dot com its all about giving.

So what better way to celebrate mother’s day by giving something utterly brilliant to your mother - today.

The 5 steps to overcoming vlogging shyness

2009 March 19
by Guy

Hi guys,

Aaaaggggh! I know what you’re probably thinking. I’m not good in front of the camera so why should I make any videos? I’ll just look ridiculous and people won’t take me seriously. I’ll fumble with words and look like a total jerk in front of everyone watching me and this will definitely won’t help me become the internet marketer I want to become. So lets just stick with writing posts and making vids with camtesia at least my voice sounds good enough to be heard.

Well, you know what? You’re absolutely right, I thought those same thoughts and still do sometimes when I’m about to plan my next vlog. Some people feel completely at ease when facing the camera and come across as real pros when you watch how calm they are and how flawless they deliver their monologue on video. Bastards! how do they manage to do it with such confidence and ease? You think. I want to be able to do it just like that.

My guess is that although they do come across as pros on their vlogs, you have to remember that they have months if not years of experience working on line producing this kind of content while you being a first timer you grapple with the thought of wanting to show your mug to the world because you haven’t got the experience that these pros have to begin with.

But you have to rememeber one thing, they all started like you did. In fact I’m almost certain that they all had issues just like you have when it came to looking straight into the camera lens and delivering their speech. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them still feel a little awkward when they have to do it today. I sure as hell do but that’s just part of nature.

But one thing I can guarantee you that with practice comes experience.

Yes! Practice, practice, practice.

Free emotional value for everyone

2009 March 16
by Guy

Hi guys,

Damn! I had to do this, just had to because I think it was worth it.

For all those on the blogosphere and in the IM game, you probably know how often you get inundated with the latest gifts and offers which are available to you for FREE So instead I decided to give you guys out there something which I believe not only has value but also an emotional attachment to it.

Huh?

Okay, okay, It’s coming up so listen closely. I know some of you might find this amusing, some will find it funny &  entertaining and others might find it silly, boring and a complete waste of time. And you know what, you’re probably right but I don’t care, because everyone is entitled to their own opinions and you can’t please everyone now can you?

But my whole intention with this post is to really to inspire you guys out there who are reading this (and soon will be watching ;-)) to do the same as I have and show to your lists, friends, colleagues, relatives who ever it is that’s connected in your life that there is a human side to you in this vast internet landscape.

So click on the vid below and enjoy it :-)

Do you want to know how many hugs I got?

57 in total.

Not too shabby I guess. So that’s 57 quid going towards Comic Relief but hold on, apart from raising money on the day I’m sure I managed to add a some joy & happiness to those people who I’ve hugged and hopefully added value to their lives even if it were only for a little while.

So now its your turn.

Are you ready to take the plunge?

Come on! ‘Screw it let’s do it!’ as Richie Branson would say and lets begin sending a viral hug to our people out there. Put your free product, information, software whatever it is on hold and just send an uplifting and comforting viral hug to the masses.

And do it just because… They’re worth it. You don’t need excuses for hugging just send it out there to your people. You can deliver your viral hug either through this icon Θ or just send the words I HUG U and lets start a viral hugging frenzy going on the online scene, yeah!

And before I round up my post I’d like to thank Frank from Neutopia for helping out with the filming and the edit of this vid and also Kevin from incompetech for his cool music.

The “something for nothing” blogging dilemma

2009 March 12
by Guy

Hi guys, present1

I have been going on to forums recently and contributing what advice I have to assist those who are new to the internet world. And I have noticed that a few of the members seemed annoyed and frustrated when it came to seeing results with making money online. Some were complaining that they’ve only been doing it for a few weeks and have yet to see money coming and you could smell the desperation because of the financial situation that they are currently in.

Now I’m not one to stop anyone from trying to make an income online but what I don’t condone is the instant gratification that some of us are looking to achieve on the world wide web.
Greed is good‘ - as Gordon Gekko liked to say in the Oliver Stone film ‘Wall Street’ but greed in this day and age, on the net, can be sniffed at in a heart beat particularly if you’re desperately trying to ram products and information down peoples throats.
Show me the money!‘ Yeah! We all want some of that and sometimes our ego gets the best of us and if we can’t have it now then the hell with it, we’ll try something else and give up trying.

Going virally underground

2009 March 5
by Guy

Hi guys,

I came across an amazing experience the other night which I’d like to share with you. I was coming back home from London’s West End and as I was heading down the escalators on Leicester squares underground I heard a reverberating sound of music with plenty of clapping and shouting.
When I got to the bottom of the escalators I soon realized that there were probably close to 100 people gathered around a busker! Yes a busker who was singing together with the rest of his cheering audience. Luckily for me I had my camcorder at the time so take a look at some of the footage I managed to grab while there.

So it just goes to show that even with the financial difficulties and hardship we’re going through at the mo,   sometimes these small and simple moments in life can have such a huge and powerful effect on us and those around us. And music is definitely one thing that can bring us together.
