Most excellent post your have here, your point about "nothing in life is fair" is true. I guess the way, one can make life fairer for themselves is if the individual decides to take action and make something change or happen for the better of course.

Your post reminded me of Zig Zaglar motto: 

"You can get everything you want in this world if you help enough other people get what they want!" 

and so you mentioning of that getting yourself out there, giving value, having patience, understanding etc.... ditch the instant gratification thought etc... is certainly an approach we should all adopt and adapt to.

Anyway, not quite sure if my post made sense or provided enough value, you can delete it if you wish.
